Sangram Sanstha was established
with the mission to educate and rehabilitate divyangjan.

An educational initiative emerged to address the needs of neglected special children, particularly focusing on those with hearing impairments and other special needs. After careful consideration, a school was established to provide education and rehabilitation for this demographic. The founders of the initiative visited ‘Suhrud Mandal’, a reputable institute in Pune renowned for its work with hearing-impaired individuals and children with special needs. Under their invaluable guidance, the institute organized a medical camp in Sangamner, where 35 hearing-impaired children were identified.

Motivated by this discovery, the institute decided to establish a school tailored to the needs of these children. Thus, on July 3, 1988, Sangram school for special children (Hearing Imaparted) was inaugurated, initially catering to 35 students. Over time, the school’s reach has expanded, and it currently serves 91 students, with a notable accomplishment of 350 students having passed out thus far.

Furthermore, recognizing the importance of extending educational opportunities to a broader spectrum of special children, Dr. Devendra Ohara School for Special Children (Mentally Challenged)  was established on June 1, 1993. Presently, it educates 49 students, with a cumulative total of 267 students having benefited from it.

Our Story

The school originated from humble beginnings, initially housed within a small Place. However, reflecting its ongoing progress and growth, the school now boasts a sprawling campus spanning across 7 acres. Renowned for its commitment to providing high-quality education, the institution is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and comfortable accommodation.

At present, Sangram Hostel serves as the residence for 91 boys and girls attending the school. The hostel comprises two separate buildings dedicated to accommodating male and female students respectively. Each room comfortably accommodates 10 students, furnished with beds, mattresses, clean bed sheets, and individual closets for personal belongings. Additionally, a dedicated helper is assigned to each room to ensure the students’ well-being and comfort.

The hostel is equipped with essential amenities including solar power, water purification systems, and a communal dining hall. Beyond the confines of the hostel, the campus features an orchard, a flower garden, and a small cultivation area, providing students with a serene and enriching environment conducive to their holistic development.
